For me, yoga is about the joy of movement and the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of the practice. It fascinates me that simply by focusing on the breath and physical postures, my spirit is nourished.
Yoga has been a constant in my life since 2005. I got hooked on it for its mysterious ability to change my mental state from bleh to peaceful and happy, usually after long workdays. It’s also the most efficient way I know to keep the body strong, healthy and flexible. I want to go through life feeling good, and I love yoga because it makes me feel good.
I teach mostly vinyasa, hatha, yin, and yoga nidra, usually including pranayama and sometimes infused with elements from qi gong and pilates. My classes mainly focus on the breath and physical aspect of the practice and often incorporate themes.
While I personally love yoga’s rich spiritual history and teachings, I find that these subjects are too deep to delve into in detail during the physical practice. I adapt my classes to the level of whoever is in my class, which often involves accomodating multiple levels.
My wish is always for you to enjoy the practice and its after-effects, but most importantly to keep you safe and injury-free. Yoga should help, not harm, and while the teacher is there to guide you, every body is different and your own body is always your most important guide.
